If you are a gardener in the USA, you may have to rethink your planting schedule for your vegetable garden this season.
The new version of the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map reflects the world wide trend of warmer weather. It shows that for most of the country the winter months are less cold than in past seasons, which means that you can start planting your spring vegetables sooner.
I would tread carefully, though. Experiment a little before you make any drastic changes. If you know your planting zone well, you shouldn’t have any problems using the map as a guide to create a planting calendar that suits you.
